door lock beep not beeping anymore
Hi Forum. Our RX300 all of a sudden stopped making the beep noise
when the doors are locked with the remote. The beep sounds off when unlocking,
just not when locking the doors. Any ideas why and how I can get it back to normal
again? Its sometimes hard to know whether the doors are really locked,
and I have to press several time to be sure sometimes. Thanks!

I agree with Trips. Most likely, you have a lazy solenoid in one of the doors, it's not locking, so you don't get the confirmation beep. Make sure the door with the worn-out solenoid is manually locked, then lock with the remote and you should hear your confirmation beep

You guys hit the nail on the head, the right rear door is not locking/unlocking anymore. If I manually lock it, the beep sounds and the lights flash. Bummer. Any advice? I guess this will end up costing me a few hindered bucks, because I do not have the tools to start taking the door apart. Unless I just learn to live with it.
Thanks !
Thanks !

I had to replace my drivers side rear lock actuator, so i used the piggyback method. I didn't mount the actuator tight enough, so a few months ago it stopped working (the actuator moved). I didn't have time to fix it, so I opened the door and removed it and put the door back together in about 20mins. I have to fix it when I get time, but for now I'm going to live with it.

Mine does this when all of my doors have not locked. I manually go around and push them locked and then I push the button on the remote and I hear the beep again. So this means you have a door lock actuator failing...
P.S. If you do it yourself you will save hundreds. I called the dealer and the part is about $330 and the labor is $200 dollars. And that's at a Toyota dealer! So your best bet is the piggyback method. Good luck!
