I don't have a DIY, but it is really simple. You can buy a recharge can and hose from Autozone or Omalley's for roughly $30.
It's as simple as connecting the hose to the low pressure port (the hose will not fit the high pressure port), starting the car, turn A/C to max "COLD" setting, and opening the valve on the can.
Look for a refrigerant that is for higher miles as they contain some lubricants for older seals.

Any screwup can be expensive.

Filling-charging from a can is a bit counter-intuitive. You need to feel when the pin punctures the top, you need to stop. Then you back up to allow the gas to go through and back in to close. If you keep twisting the pin keeps going through the top. If you are not careful in modulating it right, you will empty out the whole can.

If you overfill, then you can damage the system. If you add too much oil then it has to be vacuumed out. If too little oil, you damage the system.

I would suggest spend the extra $25 or so to some one who has gauges and knows auto ac. It does not need to be Lexus dealership.

It's not like the old days of R12 cans at Kmart! You really need a gauge set and system specs to recharge your AC. Call around and find a place that will do it for a reasonable charge (no pun intended).

I just recharged mine...the hoses that came with the can has a gauge, you set the dial to the ambient temperature, and a chart on the can will tell you the recommended pressure range....it is fairly simple to do yourself.

Be careful with using refrigerant containing oil. Not all compressor oil is compatible with ND-8.
