Resonator is what you can change [this is the thing beyond the cats].

Things to consider:

Noise pollution [some areas have restrictions that are aggressively enforced].
Sound inside the cabin [there is a certain engine rpm that will cause resonation inside the cabin.]
Noise/sound is so subjective, my view can be very different from yours.

Sounds like you need a classic cherry bomb glass pack. This baby will get every decibel your 3.0 has to offer. Be sure to do a sound clip for us!

No Jordon there are. I installed Ltuned (Lexus) resonators in my GS400 and they come with a certificate with db levels expected. I carry it in the car (as suggested by Lexus) to show, if I am pulled over. Ltuned is not offered for RX .. Lexus kind of faded out of performance addons.

Based on my personal experience, I would urge you to ride in a vehicle with the setup you are considering to install. The resonance inside can be very annoying if it happens at cruising speed (rpm of engine).

There are lot of coffee cans available. It seems you are serious about it, so make sure it is made out of stainless steel ... not just the outside skin ,, the innards is what gets the rust too.

Just have a straight pipe out. [after the cats]. Nothing can be louder.

The question is. Would I look like complete idiot driving down the road with a cherry bomb glass pack muffler on my 2002 coach edition lexus rx300? Be honest. And if i do look like an idiot what would be a couple tones down from that "extreme" muffler

Magnaflow makes a very nice stainless glass pack that might be more suitable in appearance for your Coach. This is a more expensive option but it is a quality muffler.

Yeah you're most likely going to be able to put on any straight flow muffler you want, and then either glasspack or remove the resonator all together. The cat can also be replaced with a straight pipe or hollowed out for extra noise but be careful about emission control.

Here's a video of my car with just a Magnaflow muffler from the axle-back, and a lot of water in the exhaust from a carwash, turn up your bass.
