Default How to check sensor and connector?

I get an intermittent P1730 code. It tends to come on over bumps. It's the counter gear speed sensor. No transmission problems. I suspected a lose wire but when I checked - the wire is tight. Has a resistance of 22 k ohms across the connector. I pulled the sensor itself and measured 700 ohms across the sensor.

Any suggestions? How to correctly check the sensor or the connector? All I'm left with is cleaning the clean connections and putting everything back again. Thanks.

I have not encountered a bad connector on Lexus (that does mean that you can eliminate that). Usually the wire/connector problem occurs when some one has worked on and around it compromising the insulation or even removing stress relief ties.

Best way to check would be to wiggle the wires and connectors. Since your problem is on a speed sensor, you may have to take it to a facility where your RX can be raised with wheels turning and then some one can wiggle the wires safely.

The other option which you should pursue is with the assumption that the sensor and wires are good and there is something wrong with the things on the other side of the sensor.
