So i was wondering if it was possible to replace the steering wheel? Cause i have a 2000 and my steering wheel is peeling and i want to put a wooden one on, Could it be done? Let me know Thanks in advance

Yes, I think we've had people do this in the past, but I can't remember the thread offhand. A few other people have done wood overlaps that fit around the existing steering wheel.

I'm in the process of replacing the leather steering wheel on my 2000 rx with a wooden one from a 2000. I did the wood shift **** replacement and it was cake.

I'm going to see if I can integrate the guts of the leather wheel onto the base structure of the new wood wheel so I can hopefully avoid having to buy a new single stage airbag. I'll let you know how it turns out.

The 99-00 airbags are a different shape than the 01-02 and will not fit.

I have swapped a wood wheel and airbag into my 2000 RX
