Default VSC, CEL & TRAC OFF lights???

2003 RX 300 bought new, 80,000 trouble free miles except 2 occassions (1st @50,000 miles & 2nd @ 65000 miles). CEL, VSC & TRAC OFF lights came on all at once. Contacted Lexus dealer and was told most likely loose gas cap. Tightened gas cap and lights went off with 48 hrs. Two weeks ago lights came on for a 3rd time. No luck with gas cap trick. I took to a local mechanic who replaced the O2 sensor ($355) and told me I was good. The VSC & TRAC OFF lights are still on. Local mechanic confused. I am taking it to a dealer tomorrow. I will let know how I do. Comments/thoughts from anybody would be appreciated.

When the CEL is on, one needs to hook the RX to OBDII and read the fault code. Random hit and miss is possible, but computer diagnostic is the way to go.

Use coupon code ES123 and get $20 off $50. So get the code reader and $10 of more stuff for $30 total.

Default Problem solved (I hope)

Picked her up from the Toyota dealer this morning. The computer was reset and the lights ore off for now. Also found out the O2 sensor was installed incorrectly. Dealer removed and reinstalled. Not bad for $45.

Not bad, but I would have gone back to the mechanic who fixed the problem. But you you are right, the old mechanic might have made it worse.
