Default Is it mostly the sensor that goes bad on CEL?

My CEL light experience is that the sensors go bad. Leading me to believe that the monitoring is not worth it. The sensor itself has been the source of problem. Am I alone or there are others who feel the same way?

Which sensors?

In my case, I usually find it's just some temporary condition, but it can be the sensor having what I like to call a 'long, slow death' or deteriorated condition.

Knock sensor in RX and Cam-shaft-position sensor BMW.

When I read the forum, any cel that comes up. it seems the fix has been ... change the sensor.

My post was more out of frustration.

Analogy:

Thermometer indicates one has a fever. Solution => Change the thermometer and yes the new reading says there is no fever.

Salim those two you mentioned, yes. I'd also say more than half the time a misfire is the coil bust rather than a temporary condition. A/F and Maf are the strange ones.
