First Generation RX300 (99-03). I had the light go out on the transmission selector gear shift, so I bought the bulb at Lexus for $4.00 and replaced it myself in about 15 minutes. VERY easy. Key note: Keep rubber bulb cover and put on new bulb. Here's how to replace - 1) Pop out wood grain trim (grab under the shift on the trip and pull up, it will pop out) 2) Move trim to side (no need to unplug wire) 3) remove the 3 gold screws holding the black transmission plate cover (don't drop the screws, you'll never get them back) 4) pull up black transmission cover and tilt to the right, the cord on the left turns counter clockwise and the tiny bulb and cord comes out 5) pull out bulb 6) peel off rubber bulb cover 6) put rubber bulb cover on new bulb 7) put new bulb in socket 8) put socket back in hole and turn clockwise 9) reverse removal steps. EASY to do. VERY easy.
