Default There is something wrong!

well today driving to school my 2000 Rx300 drove like usual until i pulled into to the parking lot when my check engine light started flashing and my car started to idle very hard, when driving back home he seemed like it wasnt running on all cylinders and was doing the same flashing and idling. can some one please help to figure out what its doing.

You've obviously got a misfire, which means one or more of the 6 ignition coils (usually just one) has gone died.

You're going to need an OBD2 scanner or someone with them (some places like Pep Boys or Autzone) can read them for you for free to see which of the coils is gone. I recommend getting only the Denso coils (don't go getting those aftermarket coils even if their cheaper, you'll pay for it again).

cylinders 1,3,5 are on the rear behind the intake manifold from passenger side to driver's side

cylinders 2,4,6 are on the front under the engine cover from passenger side to driver's side.

Realistically, you shouldn't be driving on it, but you may have to in order to get the code read and to pick up a coil, unless you can have someone take you to the dealer (assuming you need to use your vehicle as soon as possible).

Yea i drove it to advance auto parts, and it did say cylinder 1 is miss firing

this happened to me multiple times. was the ignition coils everytime.

#1 is near the firewall on the far passenger side.
