Clock pinned at 1:00 AM
My battery died, disconnected it and charged it. Reconnected it and now the clock always shows 1:00 AM when the car is started even if it was reset. Anyone seen this before? I have disconnected the neg term for 10 min and reconnected. No difference.

Classic symptom of a dying battery. During start, the (weak) battery voltage drops below the threshold for the clock and that resets it to 1am.
Search should have found this for you.

It does not mean your battery is dead just yet ... but it is weak and on its way out

Anyone also (besides the clock) had the rear brake light lamp on the dash come on when brake applied only to find out all brake lights are working properly? Sounds like could be connected with the battery getting weak.

Interesting observation none the less. Lets see, if others have seen this.

I have never heard of this due to a weak battery. Did you check the center high mounted brake light? Usually when someone has the dash indicator on and claims they checked all the brake lights they forgot about this one. If that's not it one of your bulbs is about to go. Change them one at a time until you find the culprit.

I'm having same problem of my clock resetting each time I start the engine. My observation is that when I put on the ignition, the clock is correct untilI crank the engine. My battery is perfectly ok. Can anyone help me with a way out.

This clock issue has come up many times over the years and I can not remember even once when it wasn't the battery. There were some posts just like yours were they were sure the battery was good (load test or some other test) but the battery always fixes the problem. The clock on the RX is very sensitive and when the battery starts to go you get a clock reset while cranking. Apparently the theshold on a load test is above that at which the clock resets, so it load tests good.

I am with mikey00. If the battery is truely good, then the clamps are not secure.
