I dont know Code58, Maybe we should both move, this state is really getting bad. Will lexus114 provide the property for a couple of houses? And maybe a giant shop building in between....
Sure, come on over!!! Got plenty of Rolling Rock (beer) too.
If you loaned the tools, that tool is very time consuming and DANGEROUS and I don't think it works well on suv hight rate springs. I had hard time using the loaner tool on corolla and cellica, small cars. The one from harbor freight also has limited use, and is not as flexible to maneuver. You can buy the right tool on ebay for a good price. Trust me if this is your first time doing it, get the right tool for it. I have been through all of that. This is the one I have. It makes your life a lot easier. You can try the loaner tool first and see what I meant. Wow, I didn't know it costs that much to replace them from dealer.
I am replacing the suspension components in my 1999 awd RX300 after 175K miles. I have obtained KYB parts from TireRack. KYB does not make the front lower spring insulator, and their front upper boot is 'generic' and looks nothing like the OE. Will the OE front lower insulator and front upper boot fit with the KYB strut? TIA.
Yes I did install the KYB myself, I used KYB mounts also...on the rear. THe fronts I used Napa brand mounts (not happy with them even though they have lifetime warranty) had to replace one because of the normal bump rattle sound. Stick with KYB on everything.
Thomas, did you replace the mounts because the old ones were bad, because Toyota/Lexus have had some design problems with the mounts or because you just wanted everything new? Thanks.
