Do u guys have this problem??
I have this strange brand loyalty after i buy a new brand and it dies down after couple years, or is it that car makers are better than ever now??? When i first bought my A4 2 years ago, I was sure that my next ride would be an audi, I looked at TTs to A6s to Allroads. I thought audi make very nice cars but they are all pretty much the same and i wanted something new, like a bimmer or benz.
But i never thought i want another nissan, but i have and had 4 nissans, never wanted another mazda after my RX-7, never wanted another cadillac after my STS, or maybe a new Escalade with 22s=), never really wanted another 911 after mine, because the new GT2 is too much $$.....
Now, i got a RX300 several months ago and i swear my next one would be a SC or LS 430.......Hmmmmm...am i sentimental or because car makers are really putting out good quality cars lately. Or lexus is really getting to me??

I don't know about you but I get brand loyal by whatever brand I own...I mean I was brand loyal to Ford a few years ago!! I get into whatever I am driving. But, I think I will now be a toyota fan forever, as long as somthing like the Supra comes out again

I am in love w/ my Lexus right now, and if it got totalled or something and I had to buy another one- I'd go with the same one. And if I wanted a different kind of car, I think I'd only buy one from the Lexus lineup. But- I don't plan to purchase another car for several years, and if I do, what kind of car I get then will depend on the long-term quality of the Lexus I drive now. Many people with the income to buy the car they really want have an emotional feeling towards it, which can carry over to the brand itself. I used to waver between wanting a Mercedes or Lexus, but now I'm 100% pro-Lexus. But if the car were to start falling apart (fat chance!) then that would obviously change.
My last car was a Ford Mustang that my parents bought for me new when I was 18. My car before that was a BMW 5 series. I was really into both of those cars when I got them, but then the BMW started breaking down after a couple of years (it was 8 years old when they gave it to me), and the Mustang (a '95) had major mechanical problems throughout the 6.5 years that I owned it- bad transmission, brake that clamped down and caused a wreck, engine that blew a seal, throttle cable that broke on the interstate. So- I decided that I would never ever buy ANY kind of Ford product again- kind of like reverse brand loyalty. And w/ the BMW problems and the high cost of fixing them, less likely to buy one though I did consider it.
So basically, I prefer Lexus now because they gave me what it was that I wanted, for the right price. When buying this car I put a lot of faith in the company to be a safe high-quality car... and how well it lives up to that will correlate with I feel about them long-term. Hopefully, really positive!
