I have been told by my Lexus mechanic, that all Lexus windshields are thicker than the aftermarket replacements. He said to always insist on getting a OEM windshield, as they are harder to chip, and are safer in an accident. My wife is an EMT, and was told during her training that Lexus windshields are harder to break when attemping to extract an auto accident victim.
Have any of you heard of this?
Pilot, Let be the first to welcome you to Clublexus... I never heard of the Lexus windshield being thicker and more rugged than anyother... I guess thats another plus for the Lexus Automobiles......

I would MUCH MUCH MUCH rather have a thicker windshield to protect me in the first place than to fear that it would be harder to extract me from a vehicle.......Nowadays law enforcement has very sophisticated means to extract people from automobiles - Jaws of Life etc. etc. etc........in fact BMW offers as an option on some of it's models "Break-resistant security glass" for all its windows.....wish Lexus would offer it as well!!
