Hey guys, does anyone know of a glass replace shop that will have used OEM Lexus windshields? The new windshields are waaay too expensive and wanted to go back to a Lexus one after having a PPG one installed by Safelite since there is a bit of distortion at the top.

From my experience repairing Lexus cars it is very difficult to find a used Lexus windshield. My suggestion is to search on: car-part.com All salvage yards in the Chicago area subscribe to this service and it's free for consumers. This will give you the most comprehensive search for your used glass. Installation can be accomplished by any qualified auto body shop, like Fix Auto Chicago, who specializes in Lexus cars.

I recently had my windshield replaced by McGrath Lexus of Westmont and it cost me under $400. I was originally planning to have it replaced with OEM Lexus glass and file an insurance claim but my service advisor presented the option of having an aftermarket windsheild that was made at the same manufacture that makes the Lexus OEM windshields. They did a perfect job and I got a loaner for the weekend to cruise around the city....and I saved $100 versus my deductible. If you go that route, ask for Tim Lucas who is my service advisor. He's the only guy i deal with there.
