Default Help! Drivers side door won't open!

About a year ago, I followed the DIY instructions and installed an door actuator. It worked fine until about a week ago. Now it still makes the sound but it won't unlock the door. The button is jammed as well.

So, I can't get the door open to take off the panel to fix it! Is there another way to open the door. The lock button won't move, nor will the door handles work.

I am sure I can fix it if I can get the darn thing open.

Thanks in advance !

So you are able to flip the lock switch (not the button, but the lock) to the open position and the door still will not open? If so, then the inner locking arm has probably disengaged somehow and unless you can hook the locking pin, it's not going to open.

I can only say... yeeeeeee haw... just a good ole boy, never meaning no harm. Beats all you never saw, been in trouble with the law since the day you were born...

Your window rolls down right?

Do you have Auto Club by any chance? Call them and get them to unlock it.
There was somebody that posted they had to hole saw a hole in the door in the lock area to deal with a similar situation- For goodness sake don't do that. I have gotten quite a few doors open over the years and never had to resort to that drastic a measure.

Was the fix a jury rig non-oem after-market solution? If so, this is one of the hazards of retrofitting.

people dont realize, how much of a thought process goes into original designs... what happens in case of failure.

Try removing the door handle (inside) cover and see by wiggling some thing will release.

It is very unlikely you will get a response from the OP on an OLD thread.
