If you are lucky the problem will be a check engine light that keeps it from shifting into OD.

Im currently selling my 99 AWD but no where near that price. My car is in mint condition though. So I would say go for it as well.

I bought a RX 300 1999 about six months ago. Everything was fine exept I noticed the main engine seal is now leaking. Dealer wants $1,500.00 to fix it . Have the underbody checked first before you buy.

Once you add in the price of the trans it's a fair price for a 1999 with that kind of mileage. However, you will have more into it than the KBB trade in value.

I will make sure to ask tomorrow when I pick up the truck about the planetary gears. I will be sure to post some pictures too.

Wow, congratulations! I'm just a lightweight at 68k on my '01 but I have to say, this is the best car I've ever owned.

A quick word about maintenance, there are specific things that are done at specific miles and can be quite extensive but these maintenances are what keep them running.

Try to find out if the "big" maintenances were done and if not, spring for the biggie which includes all fluids, water pump, cam belt and some other stuff. If you really want to get the long miles this is important.

Oh, and it's cheap to replace the rear main seal while the tranny is out, check into that.
