P0330
Just pulled a P0330, great! No other codes with it and I erased it. A few questions:
1) Is this code a knock sensor death sentence or a gremlin?
2) Is bank 2 a DIY repair?
3) I'm on an Auto RX engine treatment and they said a CEL was common while on the treatment, not sure if this would coincide?
4) Is there any risk to driving this a little longer if the knock sensors are bad?
This is an 01 with 106K and it runs great with the exception of a ping above 3,000 RPM. I asked about this ping problem before here : https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx3...-rpm-ping.html and lexus114 may have called it. I hope not!
Thanks all!

It's a PITA job. I haven't had the luxury of doing it, but I know a few of you on this forum have done it. See also this, http://www.findonefindall.com/toyota...ock_sensor.htm as it is a similar 1MZFE engine
In the near long-term it can be bad. I know offhand of a few other things that can cause a knock like this and that could be a high engine temp or very hot temps outside (I'd check your coolant temperature). A common culprit is bad gas (octane is out of whack), but I'd try premium gas for a bit if you haven't been doing it.

Thanks Lex, the gas could be a culprit. I always run Shell mid grade in it and just recently filled up with Sunoco mid grade. The gauge was at 1/4 remaining in the tank when the lights came on.
I just looked at the link....Ouch!

For some reason, I have had issues running Shell (not always, but enough of the time) and also BP. Sunoco has been very kind when I run it, but I have been sticking to Chevron since I don't have a Sunoco immediately nearby (only when I go down to the Florida Keys).

Filled up with Shell and threw in a bottle of Redline. So far no CEL's. The main companies in my area are: Shell, BP, Exxon, and the occasional Sunoco, Texaco, and off brands.

Texaco would be okay, too. I don't see too many around me. I've got Shell, Chevron, Mobil, BP, offbrands around where I live in Miami.

Well, this code came back the other day. I always use the same Shell station but I was out of town and had to use a run down station but still ran 93.
This code came on about the same time as before...1/4 remaining in the tank. I switched over to Texaco and will see what that does.
The code was off the almost a month, three tank fills, and over 400 miles of driving.
