2001 Rx 300

The power radio antenna won`t go up and down anymore. I cleaned and lubed it on a regular basis but it still broke. I can hear the motor running but no movement. Can i replace a gear inside? On my old Avalon i gutted out the cable and pushed it up and down by hand when going thru the carwash! But not my Lexus. Where is the best place and price to find one online. Thanks

 

There is a DIY to replace the mast. This assumes the problem is in the mast or the plastic that engages to the teeth of the motor. Please use the search feature.

i am looking for one ,have a new mast ,but gear is gone on motor

 

Gear engages into another gear, so I would say if one is bad, the other would need replacement too. If you do not replace them in pair, the new gear would be chewed up soon. In any case do a through examination.

I've had mixed luck replacing masts and buying used antenna assemblies. The used ones would work, but usually were noisy or didn't fully retract. I finally started buying new assemblies which run about $200 shipped on eBay. It has saved me so much trouble!
