Default Price Disparity on exhaust component?

1999 RX, 262K miles. Failed safety inspection due to leak in one of the flanges of the Y-pipe/cat between the firewall side and the downstream cat. List price at the Lexus dealer (p/n 17410-20201) is $1,700 (!!). Several aftermarket versions available through RockAuto for $200 +/-. Just now discovered it from The Exhaust Shop on eBay for $100! Would I be throwing my money away with the eBay version? Don't expect to keep the RX much longer, but need to pass inspection.

Since you'll be removing the part anyway... might consider having it welded if it's not too far gone.

That won't work. Apparently I ignored a leak for a long time during which the escaping gases distorted the flange beyond what could be repaired by welding. And I tried JB Exhaust Weld, new gaskets, etc., all to no avail.

I probably would buy the Walker on Rock Auto. Hope the old one comes out ok.

I actually used BOSAL for my front pipe and Y-pipe.
What i like about them are the thick flanges and solid welds.
Both purchased at ebay 2 years ago and holding up well.
~$200 for the Y pipe
~$70 for the front pipe
