every time i wash the outside of the car i give the engine bay a quick once over with a rag. if it's bad, i use a dry toothbrush or sometimes simple green... also, the private mechanic i go to gives it a quick dusting with his air compressor whenever i go for service.

Lexmex has posted quite a few pictures of his black bull ... and to put it mildly the engine bay does not gleam.

Back to topic ... maybe the electrical problem you have has to do with the cleaning you do ,,,, want to share that info?

not sure what you mean... i don't drown the engine bay with water or pressure wash it. i've been doing this for the last 4 years of ownership, and every other car i've had in the last twenty...?

I've "dusted" now and then to get grim off, but your bay looks like it's factory new. Do you get it power washed? If so, that could be your problem there. A lot of these bay washing places end up flooding connectors that really were not meant to get wet.

i don't know if it makes any difference mentioning this but... it's a 2000 model with 71,000kms on it. it's primarily for my mom, but she carpools with others on weekdays so it only comes out on weekends or when she goes out after work, etc.

when i found it 4 years ago it had only 58,000kms and was a lease return at a lexus dealership.

Default The fuses

After reading this i believe they were talking about the fuses for high and low beams are not under the hood at all but in the 3rd fuse box inside of the vehicle. Which they are right they are 3 different 15amp fuses in that fuse box for them, i dont see Canada be that much different the the us one. Maybe try looming into that, rather then having to pay $$$ at the dealer to find the problem. I hope this helps you out, and good luck
