Default P0420 Code?

Hi Guys!

Could someone please tell me what could possibly trigger a P0420 Code?

It came up on me twice in two weeks.

Thanks!

Barryst.

Your main cat, O2 sensor (the one after the cat), or just bad reading recorded.

I have mentioned before this is frequent down here due to the gas used, which can mess up the cat. There a few ways under slow acceleration in hot weather behind a vehicle that a P0420 can be registered in that way.

On American gas, the cat shouldn't go at this point, it is generally the sensor itself.
