Please help with this code

I received a check engine light with the code p0430. My mechanic said it's an O2 sensor, but I'm not too sure.

Sound like you got a bad cat. converter. You may need to ask you mechanic to look at the waveform of both front and rear o2 sensors( the one before cat. and the one after cat.). You do the search on this code.

VVT-i is right.. you need to get the waveforms checked, that will give you a better idea if its an O2 sensor or a CAT. This code is usually a bad cat.
