Default Rear Hatch Strut

Hi everyone,
My uncle has a 2002 RX300, and the rear hatch strut to hold up the door no longer hold the door up. I called Lexus and it costs about $185 a piece. Does anyone know where to find these cheaper? Thanks.

Yes you can get them aftermarket a lot cheaper...I can not remember the name of the company....do a search of this site and you will find it...

Quick delivery easy to install...

Someone else may remember the name of the company that sells them

I think the reference was to this site:

http://liftsupportsdepot.com

It looks like the struts you are looking for are $38 each, and he seems to be offering a 10% discount.

I found this information on page 2 of the above referenced thread. Good Luck!

I just bought a pair from that seller (albeit via eBay.) Can't wait to put them on.

If you can't find them new, this place rebuilds struts, so you have to ship them and await return. I used them for my wife's LS 430 when I couldn't source new ones (thanks for the info. above Lil4X). Was pleased with results. Cost including shipping there & back plus rebuild & tax was right at $100 for pair.

FWIW, I paid $76 for the pair including shipping. No shipping back the old parts.

Need help from those who installed the lift support from Mr. Lou.

How do I insert the ball joint? I pried the retainer clip and even tried hammering it in place.

And how do I rotate the ball joint so that it faces the correct direction? It doesn't seem to want to rotate.

Thanks.
