I have a newly acquired 2000 RX300 with no CD. How hard (expensive) would it be to add a "factory" CD player in the glove box. There are several on Ebay. Is it just a plug and play? Thanks.
I'm pretty sure it's not plug-n-play. The OEM unit in the glove box looks encased, and I would imagine running the wiring to the radio unit would be quite a chore too.
There are people on this forum who are replacing their entire front audio panel to get NAV, so I would think all you need to do is get one of these panels and you'd be all set (assuming that yours isn't already set to take a CD changer).
I entered "audio panels" in search and all I got was what you had said about some on this forum are replacing audio panels for NAV.
My question is how do I find out where I can change out whatever is necessary to get a good am/fm radio with cassette tape that will accept the present CD player I already have on my 1999 RX300. The AM part of the radio has always been the worst radio on AM I have ever owned in a vehicle.
