Default AWD specs and differences between US and EU models

I have the AWD European model (02).
I would like to get the info about the AWD trans, if it is a AWD permanent or FD connectable etc. If the central diff is antislip as well as the rear one or not.
I do some offterrain driving and the car is really capable of climbing even in mud and do some crazy things, but I am thinking in improving its capabilities off road and I need that info. For example, the snow button do something on the trans among start in 2nd?
Also, the EU version has 20 HP less than the USA version and I would like to know how to make the conversion to gain that power in my car. Changing the ECU maybe?

One thing I can assure you is that other than minor tweaks you are severely limited to what changes you can do. You will find that it is better to sell your RX and buy another RX (if that is what you desire). This was $$ statement only, so if you enjoy making the changes then there might be hope. Salvage yards would be the only way to go as dealer provided parts will be expensive.

We have a few tech savvy people who can assist you in getting the answers you desire, but you will be trail-blazing.

The reason is the shear shortage of after-market stuff, which is basically due to lack of market.

There's not much you can do with the suspension underneath the vehicle, the AWD is full time permanent. Aftermarket shocks/springs are about the only thing out there. You are in second gear with the SNOW button, but going offroading (a few times a few years ago), I found myself always using power and low gear along with overdrive off (just like I used on the track).

As far as power, I am 99.9% sure I have added more than 20 hp on my RX300 already, the majority coming by way of exhaust modifications. An aftermarket direct flow muffler combined with an intake utilizing a lower air intake entry system like shown on page 6 of my car domain page below is a good way to start.

Forget tuning the ECU, it won't even get close to 20 hp.
