Default Trailer Hitch

Can anyone recommend a trailer hitch for a 2001 RX? I just got a jet ski and am going to need a hitch ASAP!! If you know a site I can buy one please let me know. I have researched and came up with a few but I figured I would see if anyone has one they prefer to another. Thanks

Bought my RX300 used and it already had a hitch on it.
The sticker says 'U-Haul'.

I've had a couple of U-Haul hitches before, no issues.

Note that the physical hitch is only one part of it. The electrical interface is a more significant challenge. You'll find recent discussions of this with a search.

My RX came with the hitch, so I haven't personally had to deal with an installation. I'd consider buying the physical hitch and electrical interface wiring from a Lexus junk yard. I don't know what the availability is.

U-Haul does the electrical too.
They will even try to sell you a drawbar and ball but, you can save some bucks on those purchasing elsewhere.

I don't imagine they would have a RX300 hitch sitting on the shelf as it is an odd critter with that muffler cutout and all.

Might take them a few days to procure.
But they do install for the RX as that's what I've got.

I put a draw tite on my RX last night. Six bolts and about a half hours worth of time. The electrical will be a little more difficult because you have to convert from 5 wire to 4 wire and there is no plug in harness available.

Search would give you all prior discussions.

In summary, if you DO not need the electrical hook up, buy any iron that would fit.

The electrical is a completely different issue as you need electronic isolator and not just taps into the rear bulb assembly.
With different models of RX, somewhere Lexus started producing and labeling tow ready. This fact makes the connectors different.

I bought the tow kit from Lexus, I had to unbutton side panels to reach the bulbs and picked 12v from acc lighter in the trunk. It has come in pretty handy and over time the price was worth it.
