Default Trying to decide on a car....

I really wanted to get a 300 but I just dislike that 2 tone gray. And I really want to get a 330 but they are still very pricey, so I don't know what I'm going to get. If I can some how find a 330 for low then I will get one for sure, if not then its between a RX 300 and a Acura MDX. What are your thoughts?

You should be comparing the Acura to the 330, not the 300 because price wise they are closer to the same price, at least in my market. What I mean is that if you can afford the Acura, you can afford the 330.

I am starting to see some real bargains in the 300 now so if you have the cash, you can get a lot of car for much less than the Acura or the 330, especially if you go private party.

I'm working a deal right now, its a 2001 RX 300 in black with 73k mileage for $14,500. Is that a good deal? I happen to think so. 1 owner too.

High Intensity Discharge head lights. 2 wheel drives gets better gas mileage, have a faster 0-60 time, have 50% less drive train wear and are owned by more physically attractive people.

I have have had ZERO luck finding any. I go on autotrader but can't find any in my area, are they rare? Let me know if there is an online place to purchase them from. I would much rather buy an all black than a two tone with black and gray. Thanks for the help, and my AIM is ThaSykologist, contact me.

I feel your pain. I hate the two tone look. I bought mine but i knew i had to get the panels painted. Now I love it. The prices for painting are a bit steep. But perhaps you can find and independently owned shop. ifound one in my area that the guy who owns actually does the work and accepts cash payment. it costs me a $1K. Which is 7% of my highest estimate and 25% less than my lowest. Just so you know the Silversport has a euro sport tuned suspension which i really didnt like. The ride was too stiff for me (MDX Like). And, i didnt like the black leather with the silver trim instead of wood. However, i was willing to accept the ride and other minor dislikes, if i could have found one when i was in the market. Finally drove found one and drove it two years later when i had already bought mine and had painted the body panels. My RX had every option except Navi. The silversport eventhough it had chrome wheels, didnt have the HIDs like mine. Here is my 'Goldsport'

Very nice! Painting the vinyl cladding was well worth the expense. The tutone look is kinda dated, and thankfully dropped on the 2Gen RX's. It looked better on some colors (mostly the lightest ones - white, golden pearl) than others, primarily because it visually lowered the car, reducing its apparent bulk. I had hand-painted dual pinstripes done on my Golden Pearl 1Gen to further break the mass of the body, running from an "arrowhead" at the front to a filligree at the back - with a matching, neatly executed stripe and crest on the decklid handle (yes, the artist signed it . . . he was a "name".).

That Burnished Gold is really nice. I got the Savannah Metallic on my 2Gen - it was as close as I could get to the gold. Sadly, no stripes yet - can't figure out just where to put them with all the break lines on the 2Gen.

Did you get your whole car painted or just the gray panels? Did the color matchup perfect?

I spotted this all white RX300 at SMU today, bad camera phone shot but it looks great in person. I may take my camera tomorrow and try to get some real shots but SMU Security might take a dim view of some old guy snapping pics on campus. Might have some 'splainin to do Lucy!

Nah just the panels. Had them removed. sanded, primed and painted with the same color code as the upper part of the RX. I am amazed at the fit and finish. The Guy did a superb job. Actually no one wanted to do it because they were afraid that one it wouldnt be done right and would spend all that money and not be satisfied. This shop wanted to leave the panels on and paint them on the car. i told them i am willing to pay the extra to take the panels off and paint the off the car. I am TOTALLY satisfied.
