Navigation / Audio System Question....
Is there a way to change any settings so that the Navigation/Audio system doesn't require me to hit two buttons to simply change the radio station?
the screen goes back to the navigation screen after a few seconds.... so I have to hit the audio button, then select the radio station I want....
steering wheel controls for the radio/volume would have been great....
thanks for any info...

If I can get a 2002 with HID, VSC and trac without Nav I would gladly go back to the blue LCD screen where life was much simpler.
I keep the door open on the (useless) Nav DVD so I don't have to bother with "I agree" at each startup.
But I still have to "touch" some button to see any dispaly....
Stupid, stupid Lexus...

Yes, there is a way. I'm not sure of the exact menu, but try the Menu button, then "Screen Transistion". You can have it so the screen stays on the function you are operating, i.e., audio. This is the way I have my setup.

Puzzled
The "senior" service technician at Lynnwood Lexus tried several "paths" on my 2001 RX300 to get my audio icon screen, and climate icons, to stay up instead of flipping back to map.
On mine, even with the map function disabled by opening the DVD door, these icon screens disappear after a brief period.
The technician called me later and said he would advise Lexus of the need to have some way for these informational screens to reman "up".

Came home last evening and tried this on the RX and it worked.
The only explanation I can offer is that I, and the Lexus technician, must have been concentrating on keeping the climate control icons "up", and we weren't successful.
Just a brief test last evening but the radio icons did seem to prevail over the map.
Thanks for setting me straight.

I don't think I have a "screen tranistion" option. The map/audio thing was making me nuts so I sat for awhile to try & figure it out. Is it possible mine is too old - i'm still using version 1.0 of the nav disk. Does this have anything to do with it?
