RX for 2002

My wife has a 1999 RX and is considering moving up to a 2002 RX or a X5 3.0.
She wants to have side curtain air bags and I want to get 4WD this time.
The X5 has side curtain air bags and the current RX does not.

Does anyone know if the 2002 RX will have side curtain air bags like the 2001 GS or LS?

I have heard that the 2003 might be a lot different than the current model.

From what I have heard the '02 RX will remain primarily inchanged. The redesign should happen in 2002 as an '03 model.

I received the same info from www.cars.com (2002 Model Section). Redesign slated for the 2003 model, so going to happen next year! I can't wait and I just hope they add more power to the RX, not like they did for the ES. I do like the SS Edition now, but will wait for more changes.
