Default RX 300 Battery Replacement

It's time to replace my RX 300's original battery after 6 years. Does anybody know if I need to re-program the garage door opener, car seat positions, radio stations set up, etc. when I replace my battery? Is the memory wiped out when I disconnect the old battery to be replaced with a new one? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

If the baterry is disconnected for a while [sorry cant quantify exactly how long 5min s or more qualifys], you will loose ecu settings [radio, seat, info from various sensors etc]. Garage door openner is not affected.

If you prepare everything [remove holdown clamp before disconnecting the battery and install it after connecting the new one and pre-orient the new battery], the swap would take 45sec.

Then there are other options:
Get one of those cigarette lighter chargers to provide aux power without the battery { may require ign to be on acc .. be careful; you dont want the ign to be on ON without 12v as it may trigger air bag sensor}
Use jumper cables as extention from the disconnected clamps to the battery.

It will take you longer if the new battery is not identical replacement [Opima's have to be jury rigged]

Yes, the Optima's do have to be jury rigged. I found a picture of a fellow RXer from cardomain that has the Optima setup very close to what mine looks like. I have the hypervoltage unit parked on top, but its terminals go to the side terminals of the Optima battery (better engine performance in this configuration as I tried it on the top terminals before). The side terminals face the front of the car. Over the holidays, I will get some pictures of my own configuration up.

Important...only get the Optima if you plan to keep your RX a lot longer. You can find them in Costco but I had to find the 34/78 Red Top Model at Interstate Batteries up in San Antonio (they are more than 2.5 times the price here in Mexico with 2.5 times the BS from the distributors here about what they can do for your car). There is a platform that comes with the battery but I am not using it. Instead, they had to clip some plastic ties holding down the battery cables and pull them on to the top terminals. In that picture the positive is on the left and the negative on the right, I believe just like the stock battery.
