Default Spark Plug Wires

Does anybody on the forum have experience with non-OEM plug wires on their RX300?

I searched other forums and noticed Vitek, but they don't list a specification for the RX300 even though sister vehicles in the Lexus line use similar, so I figured those would work.

I also noticed OBX, http://www.obxracingsports.com/perfo...=3&subcatID=13

However, not sure if those are good wires.

The last line of thinking is that new plug wires are no different than just replacing with OEM wires.

I was hoping to find something similar to Nology Hotwires, but they do not have any application even close to an RX300.

The gas down here just does not burn very well.

I use Denso Iridiums for my plugs.

No experience with OBX spark wires. Only experience w/ OBX's product is their exhaust header for 2nd generation Acura TL. A knock-off @ a fraction of Comptech's price - but with a lot of resonance issue. Let us know what you found out.

Tuned will let you know. I plan to order the first week of October after I have decided and I will let everyone know my experience.

I am going also order that Sun Automobile Hypervoltage and Grounding Kits to replace my custom grounding system.

My OEM wires look okay but I want some better performance. I looked at ther reviews and in the forums, but I am still not sold on Torquemaster spark plugs and will stick with my Densos

I wish they made that application for the RX300 or similar car for Nology Hotwires.

My cousin down here has a 1995 Golf VR6 that we intalled them on and I could feel a difference after we installed them with slightly more pull. He got a Hydrocarbon count of 5 on a test.

However, other friends with the wires said they notice no difference.

I have SUN HVS, and it is great. Since I rarely gate shift the RX to hit high RPM, I just bought the LR model. I have MR for Acura TL used for $75, needless to say I rev that car all the way to redline

I won't have them until mid-October, but thanks for the heads-up.

I am going to get MR model Gold box and wires, along with their gold grounding cables, more $$$, but then I can test this thing on the track and get a good idea of the potential along with the spark plug wires.

Should be of definite interest to our forum members.

I have a neighbor with at brand new TL who is also interested in the Sun system, so it will be interesting to see.

I talked to Eric at Vitek and he told me that indeed the spark plugs wires (both OEM and Ultra series) for a 99 ES300 will fit my 99 RX300.

See http://www.vitekperformance.com/shop...makename=LEXUS

for the ultra series
