Default hitch wiring

Hey, I'm trying to get a hitch set up on my 2000 rx300. I got the hitch off the internet and when I start looking for wiring, I find out I need to get some wiring harness from Lexus for 200$ more. Does anyone know where I can get the harness for cheaper or other alternatives? thanks

Being that your RX is pre-2001 it is not pre-wired. The harness you need should be about $100. Here is a link to the part # and complete installation manual.

Yes. Pre-wired means the the connections for power and all the lights are already in the harness and are at a plug in the black plastic compartment under the rear of the car. You still have to add the controller and the pigtail. Pre-wired just means you don't have to run the wires for power and brake, tail, and blinkers. If you use the older kit, as some have, it will still work. It is just a lot of extra work.
