i just put in the HYPER GROUND SYSTEM by Sun Automobile (L-Type, i think) on the RX300 the other day and i must say i was pleasantly surprised. i got it for a discounted price from the folks down at my local shop and they even installed it for me real nice like...anyways, if you don't know what the HGS is, it's just a big bundle of thick gauge copper wires that are used to ground the car's electrical better. i've got an after market amp set up and i had quite a bit of engine noise/whine come thru and this ground kit has reduced it by, in my opinion, about 80%...bass is hitting better and the highs are way clearer...i didn't notice my headlights or any other lights being any brighter but my car does have more throttle response and feels like more torque as well...i've never dyno'd it so this is just my *ss tellin' me the car feels better...even my buddy that drove my car said it was more responsive...i didn't ask him he just noticed it on his own...i also just got some new tires for my rims...i went with some yokohama avs in 245/40/20 to replace my all season michelin pilot sports (same size). my michelins had some uneven wear and were falling apart because of hard driving anyways, i hope these yokos are quieter than the michelins...i wish the yokos were all season but they're rated summer only...ah well, i never drove with my rims in the snow anyways...they ain't mounted yet but i'll post my opinion on here when they are...just in case somebody gives a sh*t aww yeah

I am looking into the HGS. Can you share the connection diagram? If you don't have pictures, a description of which power cable goes to where will help tremendously.

I made my own grounding wire system with different gauges of wire. I don´t have a digital camera but I rigged it up the following way.

From negative post to body (took out my air box so there are some holes left and that is where it went) with heavy gauge wire. From body to

1. Heavy gauge wire to top of transmission
2. Heavy gauge wire to side of engine (there is a small piece of rectangular metal where are grounding wires are hooked up)
3. Small gauge wire to clamp for post on brake fluid holder
4. Small gauge wire to clamp for my Weapon-R tube

Today I am hooking up medium gauge wire from body to left side of the engine compartment (wire it underneath throttle body). From there it will go to several clamps )power steering, alternator, etc.

With just 1. and 2., I did not feel much difference, but with 3 and 4 added there is much more torque and response at launch. This dropped my 60 foot time on the 1/4 mile by .1

I also noticed my MPG went up 1.

You cannot go wrong with Sun´s system. Their voltage management system looks great

BTW, I have an Optima Red Top 34/78 hooked up. I had to chop up the battery clamp to make it flat on the top of the battery.

Thanks, I am also putting together a custom HGS using stereo power wires. My problem is to find a crimper for 4 gauge wires.

Is your Magaflow cat a bolt on on the RX?
I was told 5zigen does not make catback exhaust anymore, so I am looking to get power elsewhere.

They had to weld my cat into place.

I also ripped off that hugh resonator underneath, then took off my muffler and placed it just after my cat, and after the muffler the pipe becomes 2.5 inch with dual exhaust tip. LOUD but we have no sound pollution laws down here. This gives a huge boost in power. The guy at my exhaust place says I could probably have kept the muffler where it was and put a smaller, more efficient resonator on.

Let me know how the grounding system works out, as this is a great and cheap mod to do.

ok, i just had my new yokohama avs put on yesterday...super super quiet compared to the michelin pilots i had before...handling is awesome...the tires are crazy sticky...i haven't been smashing out as much yet but so far so good...they were quite a bit cheaper too...but they ain't all season, tho
