Default OBD II Code P0768 - Shift Solenoid D Circuit Electrical

Hello, this is my first post on clublexus can someone out there help me with this problem?

My wife drives a 1999 RX300 and a week after completing 75K mile service, performed at our Lexus dealership, the engine check light came on. A friend loaned me his OBD II code reader, so I could extract the trouble codes from the on board computer. Yesterday, I retrieved the codes and luckly there was only one trouble code reported (P0768 - Shift Solenoid D Circuit Electrical).

Anyone know what this trouble code means? I suspect it is a solenoid that is related to the drive circuit in or on the transmission. Has anyone on this board done repairs relating to this trouble code? Is this an expensive repair job? Any help with this trouble code would be most appreciated.

Default Solenoid

I remember reading something about Solenoids in a Service Bulletin. Try going to www.alldata.com and viewing (and even perhaps buying) the Technical Service bulletins for your year RX 300.

There might be something there. In New York, they won't do any TSB repair work without a warranty (well they will, but it'll cost ya )
