Technical Service Information Bulletin BR001-02 (March 22,2002) Front Brake Squeal Noise 99-01 RX300 - Refers to the new shim kit and pad support plates. It applies up to a cutoff VIN range depending on 2WD or AWD. Additionally new pads or disks may also be installed, if the VIN fits. Your Lexus dealer should be able to help you further...

Where are you guys getting the TSB info? I checked AllData and TSB BR001-02 only pertains to 2002 RX. Lexus changed the front brake pad design that year and I suspect it has something to do with that.

I used to have rusted rotors that sing, I can really hear them when coasting at 5-10mph.
I replaced with Brembo OE replacement front rotors and Akebono ceramic pads for 5 months and not a single squeal, much better stopping with these superior products.
When I replace my rear pads and rotors, I noticed OEM semi-metallic brake dusts caused corrosion on alloy wheels.
