Went to the dealership yesterday to listen to the Mark Levinson, but the one they had the day before had been sold. Still had the chance to listen closely to the base stereo for the first time.

I think it sounds pretty solid in the front seats, but there aren't enough lows in the rear seating areas ... all the bass is up front.

I'm also surprised that Levinson didn't put a subwoofer in the Levinson package on the RX. Anyone else have anything to add?

 

The standard system has 8-speakers while the ML comes w/ 11. Isn't the 11th speaker the sub?

 

No it's a center speaker in the middle of the dash ... no subwoofer.

 

I think the stock non-Mark Levinson sounds good to me but compared to the Mark Levinson i've heard in the LS 430 and LX 470 it's nothing but it's still good.

Why pay that much for a vehicle without a stereo that kicks ***??!!
