I should have said buy a key for $200 (or whatever) and put the existing 'guts' from your broken key into it. You wouldnt have to mess around with programming the new key this way. The new and un-used transponder guts would be a good story about how expensive keys are over dinner.

Never heard of a master key w/o guts myself, though maybe an locksmith could hook you up with somthing of that sort, i dont know.
