I changed my '99 AWD engine and tranny oil this morning with success, but could not figure out how to do the transfer case and rear diff. I would appreciate if anyone could help on the following questions:
1.) Transfer case--I opened the fill plug with 24mm socket, but had no idea what to use for the drain plug. It was 24mm for sure, but there was just no room to fit it in.
2.) Rear diff--A 10mm allen wrench should open the drain plug easily, but how about the fill plug. I have a set of short neck allen wrench for tight space. Unfortunately, the fill plug needs something even shorter.
3.) A few inches further down the tranny drain plug, there is a same plug horizontally mounted on the side of tranny. Is it a drain plug for something else? Where is the fill plug for it?
Thanks in advance!
Tom

To undo the rear diff. fill plug, I've just realized the shaft could rotate away to make room for the job. I have to applaud Lexus for the magnetic drain plug to catch metal particles. There is one more fluid remaining to do, the transfer case. Hopefully I can here some advice from any experienced RX300 owners.
