Default automatic trans

Hi, my wife has a 99 rx300, never tows anything, drives slow, etc and her trans is blown as of last week!! The car has 76,200 miles and is used to drive my kids to school. I did not purchase an extended warranty when i bought the car used but the manual states that the engine and trans are covered until 75,000 miles, again, my wife's car has 76,200!! This definitely should not happen with a Lexus that prides themselves on quality. Does anyone have any advice on how I should proceed to get the car fixed without spending thousands of dollars? I also have a BMW and MB that have never had any problems - - - take care of these cars and no problems for years!!! Somebody help me out!!

I'd start by calling you nearest dealer and simply explaning your situation with your RX and see what they say. There have been instances where warranty claims were sretched to suit the customer; I'm not saying that they will, but it's a start.
