It would be really nice if the RX would show the outside temp on the map screen, but it doesn't. They didn't improve this with the 330, either. 
The outside temp should show up on the climate control screen and the trip information screens.
The best way to get the temp to show up on the map is to make a change to the climate control settings through the dash controls, such as changing the inside temperature. Since I always left the system on "auto", I found that pressing the "auto" button would also get the outside temp to come up without disrupting any settings.
