Default has anyone installed the oem bumper protector?

Our MY2000 RX300 AWD has all the goodies, except the plastic bumper protector that goes on the rear bumper.

Unfortunately, our dog and our dog ramp have started taking a toll on the rear bumper and I'm thinking about getting that piece.

I'm not even remotely handy with tools so I'm looking for advice/insight from anyone that has installed one of these. I'm guessing it uses and adhesive and can't be that difficult but trust me, I'm a moron when it comes to handy man things.

Your thoughts are very welcome.

Quite a few threads about folks wanting and installing this bumper pad. In short: SUPER easy. Highly recommended especially b/c of your dog and ramp.

Pretty simple to do but clean off the area first.

The older model Toyota Sienna also had a bumper protector that fit on an RX, and does not include the word Lexus or Toyota. However, it does not loop over the corner of the bumper like the Lexus bumper protector. I got my Lexus one for $69, but remember that the Toyota one was going for $39 in some places.

It uses two strips of adhesive. You remove the backing and follow the instructions to keep it center. Take your time with this, as this is the most difficult part. Do some measurements to see where you line up from left to right.

When I bought my RX several months ago, there were a few scratches on the rear bumper, so the dealer sent me one of the rear bumper protectors for me to install.

It took about 10 minutes MAX to put it on. Very easy. As others have said, just make sure the bumper surface is very clean.

I think the bumper looks better with the protector on there as well.
