My shifter seems to stick a little between Reverse and Drive. I have to replace the shifter bulb in near future and was thinking of cleaning up any dust in the shifter area and also greasing the shifter mechanism a bit. Wondering if anyone else has done so and what king of grease they used. Did it make a difference?
Hello,
While it's hard to tell anything definitive without seeing the car, there is a solid chance that the sticking you experience is caused rather by the Actuator Lever in the Transmission itself, not the shifter in the Interior. If you are going there anyway, might as well grease all the moving components, Super Lube sells some great grease, just make sure to use as little as possible, grease collects dust, and dust causes damage. If that won't help, try unscrewing the Shifter Cable and shifting through gears from under the hood to see if you experience the same stickiness, make sure to align the cable afterwards.
Hope this helps and best of luck!

Couple of folks have reported problem with the junction of the shift lever and the cable that goes to the shifter.
