So I really have no idea how this happened. Maybe just over time with so much heat? no idea.
But anyways, I was thinking maybe i'll just get them all painted a new color. the initial shop I reached out to quoted me $1,200, so a bit out the window.
Any ideas on how I could repair the chipped area? or any other ideas? Please let me know!
Looks like it's the clearcoat more than anything. You might just clean really well and shoot some clear on that surface.
Wouldn't be perfect by any means but also not an area anyone looks at casually.
This has been happening since the ISFs…some people say it’s an accident by the mechanic using a rubber mallet to change the brake pads…I think Brembo just has a bad batch of calipers painted.
Alright guys, I bought some high temp spray paint and sprayed a bit into the cap, got these little micro brushes and I think got it to the point where most normal people won’t notice.

Well done! Agreed, you'd have to be abnormal to notice.
Nice job. My clearcoat is fading as well but a local shop will plasti-dip and hit them with a coat of clear for cheap. The long-term results look great and it's only $400.
