Default Wiring under drivers side dash. Need help

Can anyone figure out what these wires are? I noticed they were just hanging and it looks like one of them is disconnected. I get no warning lights or anything. One of the wires leaded to something zip tied on the last photo.

what is this??? do o need to connect the white headed connector to the black one?

need help.

I can get under the dash and take pictures of how it looks like, but it will have to be next weekend. Not too sure what those white/black connectors are for considering you have not had CEL. Looks like the previous owner might have been tinkering under the dash.

I would appreciate that Rolla. Yeah no CEL, car was smogged by selling dealership (it’s a California rule that they do or they have to pay for any repairs once it is required to smog again)....so this is puzzling. Drives like stock (comparing to other RCFs I’ve driven). It looks like it was part of something but was removed. Well let me know If anyone else has any ideas let me know as well.

Sure. I don't know what they are, but I will take pictures of those places for comparison purposes to see if there is anything different.

The first picture, the white piece is your OBD2 factory, the black one is an extension.

The second picture is a fuseable link, not factory, but if you have time trace the wire (one end will terminate to constant-power or switched-power and the other end will connect to whatever needed power or could be cut so no longer used). However it looks like the other end of the OBD2 slave (black) has a power lead going out of it, similar to mine, and that is to slave power for a device that uses the OBD2 for display (example, LED steering wheel, OBD2 display for readings of oil/water/etc).

I see. So I should be able to cut the zip ties and just remove it without issue?

I would trace out both ends first, to double check, but if 1 end is open then there shouldn't be an issue (recommend to remove the fuse first, would hate for it to be connected to constant power (generally a yellow wire) and it accidently touch something if the other end is open.

Thank you Tuscan.

Yes, one end is open and splits into the connectors I have circled in red below (one of the connectors can actually click into the OBD 2).

What fuse do I take out? Or is this a non-issue? Maybe the previous over was using some sort of LCD screen? Not sure what other kinds of mods that would necessitate this.
