Default New Forminglabs 60mm wing extenders!

hey guys I just got rid of my seibon wing and replaced it with a carbon factory Lexus wing. Thought it was a good idea to pair it with Forminglabs new 60mm wing extenders. These are different from the lexon extenders because these have a 10 degree angle to them. The lexon extenders do not. In my opinion it does look better with the Varis long tail wing but I wanted to go with the OEM one. Let me know what you guys think!

Looks great! Does it still raise up at speed? If so, is that the raised or lowered position in the pics?

Yes it works just as the normal wing. I they’re just extenders. The wing is in the up position. It looks good in either position, I just like it higher up!

It gives the stock wing an exotic look only accomplished with much larger aftermarket wings. I think it looks good / more classy

Does anyone have a set of these that lives somewhere hot (TX, FL, AZ, NV, CA desert...)? Web site says do not order if outside temperatures exceed 40C - which is only about 104F. Do they melt or warp or something? Since I live in AZ, it routinely gets to 115F in the summer. And these things are surprisingly expensive, so I don't want to spend the $$ only to ruin them.

^^ They seem to be 3D printed..

Wonder why they don't use a more heat resistant material or if necessary offer an aluminum option for high heat regions.

Old but still relevant post as I found myself asking same questions as prior contributors.

MJN88 looks you are in CA, any issues with the heat / loosing strength...etc, after 2.5 years of running these?

As far as I can tell, having the 10 degree angle with forming labs looks great, but they use PLA+ material versus Lexon seems to be using fiberglass, which is way more heat resistant than PLA +/pro...

It's ridiculous that PLA+ is used for an outdoor application. Especially with what they charge for those extenders. PLA does not hold up outdoors. PLA+ might for longer but it is NOT a long-term solution by any means especially with UV rays and changing weather/temps. ASA would have been a better choice because it's UV stable. But at the cost that the person is charging they should be a blend of CF or other materials. I get the money is in the design, no qualms with that, but if you are charging a premium price for a custom piece it should not be made from PLA/PLA+.
