Default Confusing...OEM Brake pads

So if you look at the Lexus catalog they have the front brake pad kit with the sensors for $400 and one with just the brake pads for $62.

its weird. Can anyone shed light on this? I don’t think the front pad set alone is under $100.

The $62 pads are for the smaller calipers on the non-F-sport/ F vehicles. Piuny pads for the little turbo 4 cylinder cars.

thats what I figured...but why list it in the RCF section? All Lexus parts websites are like this.

If you DO NOT TRACK your RCF, then you should consider the aftermarket pads on Rock Auto.com

I've ordered last year and installed personally my front pads with their PowerStop Premium pads. All good. I have not installed the rear pads yet bc still got lots of original pads left. The pads were like between $40's to $50's per axle. I reused my original brake sensors without any issues. I also measured my original rotors and they were still in specs so I reused them too without any issues.

how did they perform with spirited canyon driving? Maybe I’ll go this route. How was the bite?

I agree, I ordered the brembo pads for the I believe 14+ LS500 f sport and they are a direct fit for my 2015 rcf. They come with new pad sensors as well for like 60 bucks.

I can tell it's NOT as good as the OEM. But still safe.

But I'm not tracking my RCF. I figure if I ever track my cars, I probably will need a different car?

I occasionally go for a canyon drive. I don't do any crazy stuff. Just leisurely drive and don't really taking it to the limits. Well, except for once in a while drifting (or trying to, LOL) in a controlled area....... THIS I DO NOT use the brakes much......just down shift, apply throttle, and STEER!!!

I tried to order the ones you got from RockAuto.com for the LS500 F Sport.

But they will not ship to CA due to some crazy EPA rules........

I just replaced my front brakes with stock rotors and RB Racing pads a few days ago. Put in about 100 miles so far and I really like them. There's no squeaks and the bite feels like stock, which was the dusty Brembo one. The only problem with the RB pads is the slot for the wear sensor is off to the side instead of in the middle and the wire can't reach it. I just tie-wrapped the sensor in place to keep the warning light from coming on. It's no big deal to me for not having the warning. It's too early to tell how dusty these guys are. Another thing I wanna mention. I didn't realize how ridiculously heavy the stock rotors are. Maybe I'll go with the 2-piece rotors when changing the rear brakes.
