Downforce on active wing
Can you explain further? Are you referring to camber on the actual wing (the way it is designed) or the way it's positioned when it's up?
Are you saying a wing like this would have more downforce (reference link below):

I am saying that the Non TE/FE RCF wing pop up (mine is carbon) is a flat plate bolted (mebe glued) onto a stiffener which is the part that moves up and down (I just looked). You need the stiffener to keep it from vibrating itself to death. As a flat plat, it has no belly below and consequently there is no opportunity for air beneath it to go fast--especially since the gap created by popping up is so tiny. It is just a deflector (like a rudder). I think they missed an opportunity to create a wing shape since they could have shaped the stiffener to create a more naca like cambered foil, but with such a tiny gap it was likely more expense than worthwhile.
There are lots of Utube videos for designing rear wings for cars. Some have articulating flaps (like airplane wings) to increase camber at lower speeds and decrease camber at higher speeds.
You're one of those kids that watched Captain Planet and ate baby carrots while everyone else ate Cheetos. I only have one thing to say to you: stop eating your own boogers.
Just too many people discussing "possible" functionality, of the wing, when most of us realize it's for looks or cool factor!

I wondered about that as well. The RCF is the only F car that has it. Even the LC that shares the same motor doesn't have it. Did Toyota go duct / vent crazy like they did on the Supra or is it really functional? There is a thread that discusses it and it's uses but why only put it on one F car?
And another more cool than useful thing on my car--carbon roof. Saves 30 pounds or so. Less than 1% of the weight. Could do as well with driving with half tank of gas instead of full tank. But it looks cool.
Face it, Lexus "sees us coming" when they look for ways to separate us from money. Not that they are any worse than other manufacturers in that regard. But I did pay 90K for the car because it is 1) Lexus brand, 2) V8, 3) Looks cool. Could have gotten V8 for less, could get looks cool for less, could even have gotten a lexus for less. True, I am in my dotage; not interested in practical.

mmmm...i disagree wit this. yes it lowers weight but where it lowers it is where it makes a diffrence.
but the V8 and suspension is cool...so in effect there was something cool about the RCF that sold you. lol j/k
The v8 and suspension are functional. Rear wing is "mostly" for show, which is ok, but would have bought the RCF without it, whereas v8 and suspension is why I still have my RCF, which is the first car in over 50 years I have kept over three years!
Speaking of not too stiff suspension. Just for ducks, I've been driving around town in eco (gas is near 7$ a gallon here) and in track mode on TVD. I may be imagining it, but the car suspension feels even less stiff than normal. More "sofa like". More comfortable on rougher roads. Still too much tire noise, but I will get around to painting the wheel wells with sound deadener sometime in the near future. It is fun to go from that to Sport and TVD either normal or slalom when I get to the freeway on ramp. Sofa to fighter pilot in a flick of a couple switches.
