Default RCF - Side view mirrors

Is it just me or do others find the side view mirrors placed too far back from the A-pillar. At first glance, my eyes go to the gap!

Side mirrors are placed as far front as possible. Can't place them more forward, since there would not be enough viewing area from the side window to show 100% of the mirror which narrows as it goes forward.

Japanese used to place them here:

Even on British cars.

We gotta find freaking part numbers for LEFT HAND DRIVE facelifted power folding mirrors/modules.

I am willing to take the plunge for the entire community on what to get but I just don't have part numbers. I want power folding mirrors on my 2020... But it seems impossible that we don't have any information regarding it.

I did apower folding retro on our mercedes with zero issues. Surely there has to be someone in another country or dealer that we can talk to in order to get the correct parts to be able to do this?

Yes I sorta hijacked the thread but we need to do this damn mod!

Nigel have you tried just calling a Lexus dealership in say England or similar and talking to their parts dept?

I've tried doing this with other things and 90% of the time the parts dept won't do anything without a VIN. Then when I give them my USDM vin they come back and say "that's not compatible" or you need this for the American market.. If I had a VIN from say Canada or something like that it would probably be easier to look for the mirrors. To my knowledge no one has done a power mirror retrofit for the RC and posted about it either here or on FB, which is mind boggling to me. It seems like Lexus is a less DYI platform for most users compared to other cars/forums I am on such as the Subie/Mercedes forums. I'm not sure if that's just the demographics of Lexus people buying the car and never touching them or modifying them. On the Mercedes group there are tons of retrofits on all their platforms.

Things I'm probably hunching on but I would need the door modules (driver/passenger), power folding mirror motors then the door switch. I'd look into Techstream but last I looked when I had it plugged into my car there was nothing for power folding mirrors. So I am pretty confident that when you push the "lock" button on the keyfob the mirrors would not fold in... which I am 100% fine with. You'd have to push the mirror fold button from in side the cabin if you want them to close/open. I actually prefer it that way.

Last time this was looked into, there is no RC world wide with power folding mirrors. I think the mirrors themselves are shared with other vehicles, maybe grab the base off a NX or UX or something?

They stopped making my color in 2020+ so I'd need to have them painted, main reason I haven't grabbed some 2020 mirrors from a junk yard to retrofit.

Yep they definitely have 2020's with power folding mirrors throughout the world, just not in the USA for some stupid reason. I know Canada, England, and Japan got power folding mirrors. Kinda like how Canada got a power opening/closing trunk for the GSF yet we did not.
You can see on the driver side window switch the option to fold the mirrors in.

Hopefully one day I can do this. I know it's going to cost probably $2k when it's all said and done but it's 100% worth it to me. I love power folding mirrors..lol

My Canadian-spec RCF has all of the available options (below the track edition) and it does not have power folding mirrors. I think it is JDM/Euro market where they get power folding mirrors.
