Default Leather color coming off

I have circuit red leather and used Lexol leather conditioner with microfiber towel to clean the interior.
I was surprised to see the color coming off as I could clearly see red spots on microfiber towel.
Is this normal?

You have to be careful with those cleaning products since some of those can be harmful for some types of leather. I clean my leather very carefully and don't use any products I am not sure of.

I would stop using that product immediately. I'd recommend you something else but not familiar with the leather in your car.

Surprising to hear Lexol is taking color off. Was about to use it on mine, just to condition.

Disappointed.

This is the conditioner I purchased from lexus dealership.
I wanted to make sure if this is too abrasive for my RC-F or something wrong with my leather seats from factory.
I had no problems with my previous IS-F for years.
Thanks for your feedback.

I use simple leather wipes and it cleans them adequately without any effect on the leather color. I don't use any cleaner with polishing properties.

it's not uncommon to see color the first time you condition your seats, especially the red interior. Lexol is considered a safe interior cleaner although you don't really need it, soap and water should do the everything you need. Leather cleaners and conditioners typically don't come into play until far later down the road once the sun has ate away at the factory sealant.

I have the red interior on my 2017 and I have been using Lexol on it since it was new with no issues. I have used it on everything from my 1988 Fiero GT to my 2019 Corvette Z06 and everything in between with no issues.
