In the market for one of the RC models, the price seems pretty good for the miles and it looks pretty good from just an eye test. I noticed something strange when I looked at the CarFax...where it says "Structural damage reported"

Car listing - https://www.vlmauto.com/2015-Lexus-R...9/Details.aspx

Car fax - https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistor...e6qnyCKS3A2BEw

Is this something I should just stay away from? Currently looking at this and another RC model.

Yeah, avoid it like a plague. Lots of issues. Lien issues early on where it probably got re-possessed. Then, a major collision damaging a lot of the car. No wonder it is on for $34K

Accident reported
Vehicle involved in a sideswipe collision
Involving front impact
with another motor vehicle
Involving right front impact
Right front primarily damaged
Vehicle functional
Estimated damage exceeds $1,000

Damage reported
Damage to left front
Damage to right rear
Damage to undercarriage
Damage to front

Thanks for the quick response, I was already very skeptical about it and wanted to check with people who owned or drove this thing. Taking this one off the list.

body lines look good, but i agree, it's always a little scary when a car has a report like that. Sounds like it spun around and up onto a curb, hitting some things on the way. Put it on a lift if you do decide to go look, check the underside and make sure the suspension and supports were properly repaired / replaced. Realistically though, i would stay away, there are other fish in the sea

Hey I live in the DMV area and recently purchased an RC-F, and that was one that would pop up frequently on my hunt. I definitely would not purchase that one.

What's the "DMV" area Smug? Does that mean "DC, Maryland, Virginia" perhaps? Hmm. Heard of Metro DC before but not DMV - unless you mean that place you stand in line for hours to get the new "Real ID" on your license?

Too funny, that place is literally 4 miles from my home in Fairfax! I wouldn't touch it, but if you want me to stop by and get you anything I will Carnage? Matter of fact, I've literally been to that place! Its right next to a great Body Shop who did some repairs on wifes RX350 after she was rear ended. The whole area is kinda shady to me. Hit me up if you'd like to see mine and the Mods Ive done. Not for a Tease if you don't have one yet, but just to give you an idea on how they are. Another Member here Ne1tHeRe and I are pretty close by and would be happy to connect with you. He was seriously ready to sell his 2015 for the new C8, so maybe you can sway him back again. lol. Bought his LEMS Intake when he started parting it out, and then he changed his mind to keep it instead. Too bad, I was gonna snag his killer Varis Hood w its HUGE vents and Varis Ducktail -both w extra Clear Coat and PPF. His car is sweet. Hit us up Carnage!

The GM at my Dealership here (Same Area) tried numerous times to purchase my 2017. He said people are really looking for a nice clean one out there. You may have seen my Post on what they offered me for it, plus the deal on the Track Edition they're getting - which by now they have - but my track days are over. Keeping this car in "Show Condition!"

It certainly was sad that he decided to keep his F, but I actually support him 100% now since Ive gotten to know him better. I actually told him I feel guilty that I took his hot Intake before he chose to keep it. The car is unreal AND he has some SERIOUSLY INSANE mods on his mind too! We met out at Dulles Landing.

Since one cannot send pics direct thru PM, I sent you links which you can easily find on all of us. The Search field is pretty good also. If youre on Facebook, the RCF Group by another one of the Members here is absolutely fantastic too!

So tell me, do you now have a RCF or still looking? If you want to look at New ones let me know, as the GM is a friend at Pohanka. However, Ne1ThEr has contacts at Lindsay in Alexandria.

I ended up buying one about a month ago! I'm super happy to be part of the club.

Oh, I see that you DO have a F now. Disregard my PM. Have you written an Intro Thread with Pics of it yet? And yes, they still have Borla Exhaust Systems for the RC-F if that is what you want? There are plenty of other options for this as well - Ask Rolla about his killer Invidia for example.
